Abby heads back to school tomorrow (but only for the rest of the semester, which means she'll be back in a little less than three weeks), so today was something of a family time day.
(Okay, well, for me it was more of a 'go on a walk with Adam while Brady has a lesson with his pitching coach and then fall asleep in a chair in the family room while watching a Hallmark Christmas movie' day. But I digress.)Even as I rested, I could hear Abby, Isaac, and Brady in the living room as they engaged in one of their signature activities: Mario Kart on the Switch. They really get into the experience, so although the shouting can be a bit much at times, it made me smile to hear them having fun together.
And then this evening, we enjoyed Abby's pick --chicken parm-- and then played a round of cards before watching "Last Christmas." (Well, some of us did. Isaac was at work.)
I know that the days of us hanging out together are limited, so I grateful for the time we do have. And I'm grateful for the memories of those times that I carry forward with me.
