I'm cheating a little bit with this one because it's actually from yesterday, but it keeps coming to mind so I figured I'd share it. (And I went to several more Safeways today in search of Coke Zero Holiday Creamy Vanilla soda, which I eventually secured and can certify as very tasty. Just so you know.)
Anyway, I was at our local Safeway and happened to notice a small bin of rubber ducks near an end cap. Ever since Isaac's friend Tyler got a Jeep and started collecting rubber duckies --apparently that's a thing-- I stop to check them out when I see them. As I got closer to the bin, I saw just what you're seeing now -- a squishy baseball with the name "LOGAN" emblazoned on its side.A baseball with Logan written on it. Logan never played, of course, but his little brothers... that's their jam.
I actually snorted when I saw it, and said (aloud, so hopefully no one was within earshot) "I see you! This is pretty overt."
I miss that kid every day, and even moreso as the Christmas season approaches and plays out. So I'm grateful to God for little winks like this one that remind me that he's not really gone. He's just not here.
