We learned long ago that going out on the actual holiday was a no-go for us; far too many people do that for our shared non-crowd-loving sensibilities. So Adam and I enjoyed our Valentine's Day dinner downtown tonight at Haps.
The food was delicious, the company excellent, and the conversation meaningful. And the whole experience made me think: A connection established over a long period of time with a partner is so unique and special. There's comfort in silence and words can be exchanged effectively even when no one speaks at all.
It's beautiful, really. And I am grateful for it.
