When the Little Boys and I went to Target to shop for Abby's birthday last week, they both wanted to get her a scooter. My initial response was a quick no, but after a few moments of wandering the aisles, I realized that it was actually the perfect idea. So that's what they (well, *I*) bought. And today, they all scootered together for the first time.
They're all different people with different personalities and different approaches to dealing with the world and with people and with challenges, but for one peaceful hour, they raced and laughed and scootered together. For those moments of simple unity and unabashed enthusiasm and joy, I'm thankful.
