Brady and the All-Star 12s played their first game of the District Tournament this morning.
It didn't go very well for them, but I really appreciated how they did player introductions before the game: the PA announcer introduced one player from each team and had them meet at home plate to shake hands, fist bump, or whatever greeting they chose before they headed toward the mound to greet the rest of the players and the umpires. It was a moment of peace between rivals.
Given that I think this world could benefit from a lot more of that kind of behavior, I'm thankful to have had a glimpse of it today from young people. They are, after all, the future.
