Isaac lives and breathes baseball these days. For real.
This morning I drove him 35 minutes north so he could play his first Nines game. It's a team made up entirely of players from his school --mostly JV and Varsity with a few Freshmen mixed in-- so he knew a handful of the boys. And he did fine; he played half of the game in left field and flew out to left-center. All in all a respectable outing.I continue to be inspired by his dedication and drive and by how playing fills him with such obvious joy. I have no idea how far he'll go in the sport, but I'm grateful for right now and for cheerful post-game car rides home.
