November 15

It's not every day that someone I know turns 101 years old, and today was one of those very rare days as my grandma hit that infrequently achieved milestone.

We weren't there with her back in Maryland, of course, but the boys and I did FaceTime her after they got home from school to sing Happy Birthday.

She's not nearly as with it as she was even just a year ago, but she still knew it was us; she instantly recognized her "baseball boys" and opined about the championships they'd no doubt win in the years to come. (She's always told them that their great-grandpa Roscoe would've been so thrilled to see them play.)

So for the blessing of her long life and for the positive impact she's had on mine over the years, I am very thankful. Happy 101st, Grandma!
