Halloween with teenagers (or more accurately, a teenager and an almost-teenager) isn't the same as Halloween with littles. It's still fun, but it's definitely different.
And this year, our brand of different involved Isaac (as Perry the Platypus) and Brady (as Pluto) heading over to church after school to volunteer for the trunk or treat event. Although neither knew what his assignment would be prior to showing up, they wound up manning a trunk and a game apiece, and both did a great job. (And for the eagle-eyed among us, yes, Brady's hand is wrapped. He has a small fracture in the middle finger on his left hand. PE injury.)
It did my heart good to watch both of them interacting with the parents and kids who came through. I'm so thankful for who they are and for how I can see God working in their lives as they grow.
